Roy was born in Hawaii in 1948. He is Hawaii's most recognized ukulele instructor, and the founder of the International Ukulele Festival in Waikiki on Oahu, the largest annual ukulele concert in the world.

 

His support and teaching over the last forty years has helped fuel the ukulele's resurgence in Hawaii and in mainstream music.

Roy's support of FOUR STRINGS has been both instrumental and inspirational. Other players featured in the film will not only come from his student body, Roy will be the official ukulele trainer for our featured actors.
